Los Angeles has decided to allow general manager Rob Pelinka to take over Johnson’s role, according to an ESPN report. Pelinka, longtime agent of Kobe Bryant, was hired as the general manager alongside Johnson in 2017. He signed a five-year deal with the team. Johnson, a former Lakers star, called an impromptu meeting at the Staples Center in April to announce he was stepping down from his front office position....

The RFEF released a statement on Friday confirming the competition judge had ruled football was only to be played on Saturday or Sunday in August and September. As such, it demanded LaLiga alter its calendar as it had not sought permission to play matches on Fridays and Mondays, with defending champions Barcelona initially scheduled to begin their campaign against Athletic Bilbao on August 16. But LaLiga refutes the decision, instead claiming to be the only organisation able to set the schedule for league fixtures....

In a video uploaded by rerelucas76, an ambitious Labrador can be seen trying to squeeze himself into a tiny dog’s bed. To his credit, the canine does succeed in wedging himself inside the cosy looking cot but, as his hilariously awkward expression shows, it’s far from comfortable. The video can be viewed here. Lake Mead’s water levels are dropping due to the ongoing megadrought in the western United States. The U.S.’s largest man-made reservoir has made national headlines recently not just due to its receding waters, but because of the gruesome finds being uncovered as the water recedes. Since May, five human bodies have been discovered in the lake. One set of human remains were discovered in a barrel—police believe the remains belong to the victim of a mob-related shooting....
